The art of living the legend… May 21, 1927, 22:22, Le Bourget.
On May 21, 1927, the Ryan NX 221 "Spirit of Saint Louis" monoplane landed at France's Le Bourget airport to the cheers of an ecstatic crowd. 200,000 spectators rushed to the scene to welcome the hero of the first non-stop transatlantic flight, a daring young American of 25 called Charles LINDBERGH.
By making New York to Paris, some 5800 km, in 33 hours and 30 minutes, this audacious and intelligent pioneer went beyond what was then considered imaginable...
"I was astonished at the effect my successful landing in France had on the nations of the world. To me, it was like a match lighting a bonfire." Charles Lindbergh.
A squadron of objects in praise of Adventure...
Lindbergh's odyssey together with the nostalgia for this pioneering adventurer have brought to life a line of gifts inspired by the Spirit of St Louis. Radio devices, timepieces, writing instruments, travel objects..., their originality lies in the connection to the world of aviation and its fine materials: the leather of the flying suit, the hammered finish aluminium of the cockpit, the wooden framework, the canvas fuselage... As a tribute to these magnificent daredevils flying on the wings of glory, our gifts conjure up memories of cockpits crammed with the flying equipment of that time: radio-transmitters, altimeters, tachymeters, compasses, wind gauges, thermometers, antennae, set knobs and metallic switches...
Full of character, these gifts will be a winner for those with a penchant for beautifully crafted objects and who dream of endless horizons... |
